We work as a prime consultant and as a sub-consultant to our Architectural clients.

We are seeking a Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer with a BS degree and a minimum of 1-2 years of experience. An EIT or PE is desirable but not required. AutoCAD knowledge is preferred but not required. Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) knowledge is essential. The position requires experience with the design of commercial and institutional building HVAC systems. Duties include HVAC load calculations, energy modeling, equipment selection, piping and ductwork design, and an understanding of the Building and Mechanical Code.

Engineers
We are currently searching for experienced Engineers who will be responsible for project design, planning and management. Coordination of staff assignments for best utilization of technical staff and ensuring the quality of work would be part of this position. Candidates must be highly motivated, possess strong technical background and be familiar with a variety of different systems. At least seven years of discipline specific design and management experience in the architectural or engineering industry along with relevant building design experience is required. P.E. preferred but not essential.

Designers
A solid understanding of discipline specific building systems and engineering design is required. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing construction documents (plans and specifications), and coordinating projects. A minimum of 3 years relevant experience is required. Candidate should be familiar with the operation of computer systems including Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD.

Job Title: VMS Technical Specialist and Installation
Position Location: Northeastern US or Midwest area

Summary
This position is to provide customer and dealership support in the North East United States (area), in regard to any technical application and installation of the VMS and related equipment. The VMS (Voluntary Milking System, i.e. milking robot) Technician will be responsible for all technical, maintenance, training and service programs with VMS in the services area.

The VMS technician will also be responsible for coordinating between the various entities within DeLaval, R & D, Manufacturing and Sales & Marketing. The VMS technician should reside in the Pennsylvania, USA area so relocation may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall product technical performance of all systems installed in area
• Act as project leader for DeLaval on all VMS installation in area
• Responsible for the selection and recommendation of potential or future service technicians for VMS training
• Provide continuous training and documentation on all dealership personnel that are authorized as VMS service technicians in area
• Responsible for the proper training of all service technicians ¡V including coordination of technical training sessions held outside United States
• Ensure that service/maintenance programs are implemented and performed according to guidelines
• Provide technical assistance over the phone or in the field as needed
• Implement any system upgrades
• Maintain proper customer file on system versions running in the field
• Support field technicians with latest up-to-date technical information
• Provide field support during installation, start up and follow up of new systems
• Maintain proper and up to date technical documentation
• Maintain log of service maintenance programs for every installations
• Directly responsible for the availability/stock of all VMS spare parts (regional kits and service kits)

JOB TASKS AND DUTIES

1. Provide professional expertise in concepting, design and pricing of Automated Material Handling Systems.
2. (If you have a Commercial Construction back-ground, with Cost Estimating; we are also willing to review your qualifications). Taking the Design and Schematics, to ultimately create profit-pricing, is a LARGE part of this position! Sales are secondary, but a dynamic we would like the person to have.
3. Perform comprehensive technical and commercial review of customer specifications and drawings; understand how the drawings "fit together" as it pertains to automation, or conveyor systems.
4. Develop system layout based on customer requirements and internal standards including base bids and alternates. Internal Customers/Colleagues are as important as external when pricing the project!
5. Supervise and coordinate Layout Engineering responsibilities
6. Prepare Process diagrams, equipment manifest and specifications for contractor services and vendor equipment
7. Assume lead role in proposal preparation, inclusive of planning and internal management
8. Perform site inspections as required
9. Develop preliminary project schedule
10. Interact with customers and maintain working relationships with customers

1. 4 year Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering; or relative industry experience
2. Minimum 5 years experience in the field of Automated Material Handling Systems, with 3 years estimating experience

JOB SUMMARY:
The individual will manage a staff of designers/drafters and be responsible for overall fixture design and implementation. This position will mechanically design fixtures with a focus on cost effective and high quality solutions. Especially important to this role is to manage timelines and productivity of staff and ensure quality. Candidate must communicate well, both verbally and in writing and be able to transfer knowledge in a comprehensive fashion. Must have above average troubleshooting skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Use experience in store fixture design to improve the quality, practice, and delivery of engineering designs to our clients.
• Serve as primary interface and process expert with customer design to facilitate a producible design, fabrication, and scheduling of build-to-print products with a focus on design for manufacturability and process improvement.
• Translates customer requirements from the initial quote stage through qualification and implementation.
• Responsible for accurate Bill of Materials.
• Select and ensure proper qualification of suppliers.
• Lead and direct the activities of the Estimator(s). Actively participate in and review complex or strategic RFQs. Evaluate quotes in terms of delivery dates/commitments, materials, tooling, and fixtures/equipment necessary to support specific production.
• Act as a facilitator to staff, leveraging in-house “process experts” to champion design for manufacturability, process improvement initiatives, and cost reduction activities.
• Prepares rough sketches for staff by studying engineering specifications.
• Prepares final drawings by studying engineering sketches, specifications, and supporting documents; drawing multiple views of fixtures components and parts; and identifying, tolerances, and materials.
• Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information; conferring with designers/drafters.
• Lead, teach, and direct the activities of the designers/drafters. Assist in the planning for development, documentation, implementation, control, and improvement of production processes.
• Manage relationship with external SolidWorks system consultants.
• Working closely with Quality management, direct appropriate application of to ensure high quality, cost effective, and robust process implementation.
• Develop and utilize performance metrics for all areas of direct responsibility to maintain alignment of team performance and company goals.
• Lead technical troubleshooting of production processes and equipment.

• Good communication skills, as demonstrated by publication of papers and presentation at conferences, are required.
• Ability to work in a team environment is essential.
• Professional engineer (PE) license is desirable.
• Understanding and knowledge of AASHTO Code related to design and construction of bridges is required.

Bridge Research Technicians

Responsibilities include:

• Assist research engineers in the performance of experimental bridge research.
• Set up experiments involving a variety of specimens, equipment, sensors, and data acquisition systems.
• Create simple sketches and drawings.
• Fabricate test specimens including steel, concrete and composite materials.
• Perform experiments and record, organize and reduce data.
• Assist research engineers in preparing research reports, technical papers and presentations.
• Maintain laboratory and equipment and perform or facilitate calibrations.
• Mentor and train junior technicians.

Requirements include:

• At least a high school diploma is required.
• Related experience in a structural laboratory is desirable.
• Certifications from organizations and agencies such as NICET, WACEL, ACI, and State Departments of Transportation are desirable.
• Good communication skills are required.
• Ability to work in a team environment is essential.
