Job Description: Oversee and provide technical and management guidance to the Special Programs group. The group is responsible for the electrical design of vehicles, design and programming of software and hardware for vehicles, calibration testing and certification, and electrical and mechanical control systems and integration of these systems onto existing or prototype vehicles.
- Provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians in the electrical/electronic group in the electrical design of vehicles.
- Provide management and leadership to the group that mirrors the mission and core values of the company.
- Provide support and guidance for business development, proposal preparation and review as applicable.
- Assign and manage tasks, workload, and priorities within the Special Programs Group.
- Provide timely reporting and status briefings to management
- Provide technical leadership for the company in the selection, acquisition and implementation of technology tools.
- Design and program software and hardware components on vehicles.
- Conducts specific tests as required on new/modified components.
- Analyzes all technical data including instrumentation readings, calculations, deficiency reports, graphs etc., prepared by subordinates.
- Prepares preliminary sketches, diagrams and specifications for new or modified facilities or equipment.
- Manage more than one technical activity at a time.
- Provides support to other test engineers and program managers.
- Interview, hire and review personnel.
