JOB TASKS AND DUTIES
Provide professional expertise in concepting, design and pricing of Automated Material Handling Systems.
(If you have a Commercial Construction back-ground, with Cost Estimating; we are also willing to review your qualifications). Taking the Design and Schematics, to ultimately create profit-pricing, is a LARGE part of this position! Sales are secondary, but a dynamic we would like the person to have.
Perform comprehensive technical and commercial review of customer specifications and drawings; understand how the drawings "fit together" as it pertains to automation, or conveyor systems.
Develop system layout based on customer requirements and internal standards including base bids and alternates. Internal Customers/Colleagues are as important as external when pricing the project!
Supervise and coordinate Layout Engineering responsibilities
Prepare Process diagrams, equipment manifest and specifications for contractor services and vendor equipment
Assume lead role in proposal preparation, inclusive of planning and internal management
Perform site inspections as required
Develop preliminary project schedule
Interact with customers and maintain working relationships with customers
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
4 year Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering; or relative industry experience
Minimum 5 years experience in the field of Automated Material Handling Systems, with 3 years estimating experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. AutoCAD
Working knowledge of PLC control systems
Excellent oral communication and writing skills, being able to present ideas to vendors, associates, and customers.
