- Supervise associates directly or indirectly, providing ongoing direction specific to project tasks, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Review, mentor, develop and manage associates performance of project goals and company expectations.
- Manage all activities for assigned projects, including scheduling work, managing project budgets, directing associates and sub-consultant activities, and establishing and monitoring quality requirements.
- Ensure client satisfaction and promote integration across all areas of work.
- Report project budget variances to the Director and develop a plan to bring the project back into compliance.
- Communicate regularly with clients on project status and ensure effective project communication between team members and clients.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients, regulatory agencies, and other outside groups.
- Make formal presentations to clients, stakeholders, the public, and regulatory agencies.
- Prepare proposals and contracts, determine project requirements, budget, deliverables, and scope based on client dialogue and project understanding.
- Identify potential funding sources and project risks, monitoring and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support and implement associate programs that foster a positive work environment and help develop each associate to their fullest potential.
- Demonstrate a passion for client service and relationship building with clients, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and teams.
- Build client relationships through project delivery that meets and exceeds client expectations.
- Identify future projects, opportunities, services, and client needs.
- Attend networking events, trade shows, and technical conferences for business development purposes.
- Adhere to the companys QA/QC Performance Standards.
- Ensure projects and associates follow organizational and operational guidelines, processes, deadlines, and procedures, making recommendations for improvements as appropriate.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 5-10 years of transportation engineering experience.
- Experience managing projects with DOT, LPA, and Non-LPA clients.
- Proficiency in OpenRoads, MicroStation, and/or Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of plan production, task management, schedule, and budget management.
- Ability to mentor staff and provide technical guidance.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in roadway and highway design.
- Experience with roundabout design.
- Ability to work remotely if applicable.
