**Job Description:**

As a Mechanical Systems Design Engineer you will support the new design and modifications of aircraft structures and/or systems and are responsible for the creation of quality solutions on time from a Design point of view. Duties include performing design efforts for both metallic and non-metallic parts along with system installations (electrical, hydraulic, fuel) while working in close collaboration with static stress and fatigue colleagues. Methods include the use of multiple applications to develop efficient solutions to satisfy design and/or system installation principles.

**Your challenges:**

Autonomously perform moderate to complex levels of design solution development. Team assignments may include detailed part design, layout maturation, trade study analysis, weight reduction efforts, certification activity, or in-service support.

Create or modify technical documents such as: Design Datasets, Product Structures, etc. within various computer based applications/toolsets (SAP, CATIA, VPM,etc.). with high quality and efficiency.

Liaise with Static Stress, F&DT and other appropriate departments to come up with optimum design solutions.

Accept broad objectives with agreed deadlines and establish the tasks required and how they should be completed. Works independently.

Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.

Ability to obtain Authorizer Technical Signatory. Has obtained and utilizes Approver Signatory effectively.

Guides and/or leads the successful completion of projects and execute activities to achieve customer requirements.

**Your boarding pass:**

Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical) with a strong curriculum emphasis on structural design and analysis and mechanics of materials is required.

9 years total design experience in airframe structures and/or system installation projects.

Candidates should be comfortable working for extended periods of time using computers and in an office environment.

Ability to interpret and follow verbal and written instructions.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and bill of material systems.

Ability to write reports and business correspondence.

Dependable, self-motivated and accessible.

Knowledge of maintenance repair shop practices, equipment and capabilities.

A strong computer background, including MS Office application experience (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite application experience (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail).

Up to ~5% Domestic and very limited possible international travel, subject to additional based on customer / project requirements
