Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to develop, manage and control new model development activities supporting the startup strategy through mass production of new products and processes. As part of our strategic initiatives in support of EV and Hybrid technology platforms, this role is essential in ensuring that all aspects of new model introduction align with program timing, quality, cost, and delivery objectives. This role involves direct interaction with design engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and safety teams to guarantee the production of high-performing, quality parts.
Position Duties and Responsibilities / % Time Spent
- Develop feasibility studies to ensure manufacturing processes have merit; Ensure manufacturing equipment is of high economic value & thoroughly evaluate all processes for reduction of unnecessary process time, energy consumption and labor requirements; Work with EHS to ensure that all process and equipment designs are safe; Ensure process and equipment design meets Cpk requirements; Create solid project plans that are low in the risk of achieving profit goals and gains required approvals: 60%
- Support implementation of new model projects: 20%
- Analyze / review / select new suppliers and processes: 10%
- Support manufacturing plant VA / VE (Value Added / Value Engineering): 5%
- Other duties as assigned to support corporate objectives: 5%
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills)
Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience and education
5 years of related work experience with high-volume, precision assembly processes
Ability to make quick, accurate, data driven decisions utilizing excellent critical thinking skills
Excellent oral and written communication and people skills
Computer literacy with both personal computers and manufacturing systems
Well organized and able to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously
Candidate must already have work authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, other technical fields, or equivalent experience and education
Minimum of 10 years of related work experience
Minimum of 8 years of experience as the lead for major capital equipment procurement or process development

- Confirm that all product requirements are satisfied by online testing including daily validations
- Monitor progress, comply with quality/schedule requirements, and maintain logs and records
- Assist in developing capital project programs for new equipment or major repairs
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
- Ensure all local, state, and federal laws and regulations are followed

- Guide and support other engineers, interns, EIT's, TS's, MA's, and TA's
Software
- Intermediate experience with ACAD and CATIA preferred
- Intermediate experience required in Windows, MSWord, PowerPoint, and Excel, CAD

- Ability to work for extended periods of time while sitting, standing, walking, and bending
- This position is for day shift; however, the ability to work a flexible schedule is expected
