Job Description

This position is responsible for product design and analysis, encompassing design/documentation, technical development, and production support for assigned products. The Design Engineer actively guides the design and development process using technical, statistical, experiential, and concurrent design skills to ensure cost-effective designs that meet or exceed performance and cost expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead product design and analysis, including design/documentation, technical development, and production support.
• Guide the design and development process using technical, statistical, experiential, and concurrent design skills.
• Ensure designs are cost-effective and meet/exceed performance and cost expectations.
• Spend the majority of time on duties related to design and development.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Solidworks and electromechanical design.
• Experience in drafting standards including ANSI-Y-14.5.
• Ability to perform hands-on fabrication and assembly of products.
• Strong communication skills for interfacing with engineering and manufacturing/assembly personnel.
• General knowledge of test methods and equipment for mechanical, electrical, and environmental testing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with electro-mechanical components and design.
• Strong electro-mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of machining, metal working processes, molding, casting, plating, and general fabrication/assembly.
• Experience with drafting standards such as DOD-D-1000 and Mil-STD-100.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment managing various tasks.

Work Environment

The role involves working in a mid-to-high volume environment with exposure to various fabrication and assembly processes. Dress code is professional, suitable for interfacing with engineering and manufacturing/assembly personnel. The position requires diligence and the ability to handle a variety of tasks, often in a stressful setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $95000.00/hr.
