How do I post a job on iHire’s freelance marketplace?
- Sign in or create your account.
- Select “Jobs” on your menu, then “Post Jobs.” You can also select “Post a Job” on your main dashboard.
- You’ve now entered the job posting flow. To post a freelance job, choose the “I want to hire a freelancer” option. Hit “Next.”
- Choose how candidates will be able to perform the job (in-person, remote, or hybrid) and indicate the primary location for your workplace.
- Next, input the job description/project brief for your ad, starting with a title.
- Job ad titles for freelance roles are typically longer than those used for full-time roles. Concisely state the role and primary deliverable, and mention specific platforms or tools if applicable. For example, “Contract Registered Nurse Needed for Flu Shot Vaccination Event” is more impactful than “Contract Registered Nurse.”
- Enter the job description.
- Specify the job’s scope and expected timeline, clearly outline goals and deliverables, and list required skills and qualifications.
- Keep the description between 300 and 650 words.
- At the bottom, you will see that the “Keep my posting confidential” button is already checked. Freelance jobs are by default confidential, so your company name is automatically hidden from job seekers. However, they will be able to see the name after submitting a proposal.
- On the next screen, choose the skills your ideal candidate should have. We’ll automatically suggest skills, and you can enter and search for your own.
- Fill out a few more details to help your job ad stand out, including the scope of your project.
- Specify budget of the job. First, choose whether you will pay a fixed total amount (pay one lump sum for the entire job), or an hourly rate.
- If you choose the fixed total payment, you will then enter the total amount you’ll pay for the job and how long the job will take (e.g., 1 week or less, 1 to 2 weeks, more than 6 months, etc.).
- If you choose the hourly rate option, you’ll provide an estimated duration of the job – how many hours per week will the freelancer work, and over the course of how many weeks or months?
- In the next step, you can further customize the application experience to increase the quality of the candidates you receive.
- Here, you may add prescreening questions, specify which team members will be notified of new applicants, and indicate a hiring manager.
- Finally, you may preview your job ad and make additional changes if necessary.
- Select “Post Job” when you are ready to set it live.
