A technical lead at Milwaukee Tool is a highly experienced technical generalist with a diverse skillset. As a technical leader, you will report to the Manager or Senior Manager. You will work as part of a product development organization in a team environment interacting with cross functional teams including hardware, firmware, product development and reliability engineers in addition to product management and engineering leadership teams.

Youllalsobe DISRUPTIVEthrough these duties and responsibilities:
  • Provide strong technical leadership related to embedded and power electronics design and best practices to the organization
  • Roadmap adoption of critical technologies into products
  • Directly contribute to projects critical to the organizations success as a technical expert or technical project leader.
  • Maintain broad understanding of entire systems and architectures.
  • Manage business unit specific hardware and firmware features, libraries and reference designs.
  • Rapidly assist project teams experiencing issues perform root cause analysis, develop response plan, and lead the execution of the plan.
  • Coordinate with other technical leads on critical technical issues
  • Effectively communicate up, down and across the organization to a diverse range of technical and non-technical team members.
  • Review, attend and provide feedback on formal and informal hardware and firmware design reviews.
  • Participate and lead company-wide process improvement initiatives
  • Mentor and provide targeted technical training for junior engineers
  • Maintain, communicate, and enforce consistent design best practices across the organization.
  • Act as a point of contact and technical representative for your Business Unit.

What TOOLS youll bring with you:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Preferred).
  • 7+ years of highly successful embedded systems experience.
  • Understanding of digital circuits and the interaction between firmware and electronics. Ability to realize component level design.
  • Exceptional root cause analysis and debugging skills.
  • Project and resource management experience.
  • Practical knowledge in analog/digital system tradeoffs and design, especially related to signal integrity, noise analysis, and margin considerations.
  • Familiarity with using schematic capture, PCB layout software, SPICE, and knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Familiarity in C and C++ programming and related development tools and processes, especially relating to microcontroller peripherals.
  • Strong leadership experience.
  • Self-motivated, organized, efficient, process oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Excellentproblem-solving skills, exercises independent judgement and works well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time (domestic and international).
