As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be instrumental in overseeing the successful startup and commissioning of critical building systems. Your technical expertise will be essential in reviewing design plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with contractors to bring projects to completion on time and within budget. Youll be a problem-solver, a collaborator, and a driving force behind the smooth operation of essential facilities.

What Youll Do:

• Facilitate mechanical building system startups and commissioning activities.
• Provide expert review of product and equipment submittals, shop drawings, and engineering specifications.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and OSHA requirements for mechanical installations.
• Uphold building codes and professional industry standards (IBC, NEC, NESC, NFPA, ASME, AMCA, ARI, AWS, ASHRAE, FM).
• Coordinate equipment factory testing, delivery, installation, and handover.
• Manage weekend and shutdown work with contractors and facilities groups.
• Conduct regular work progress inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Oversee mechanical contractors and adherence to project schedules.
• Prepare field engineering status reports and contribute to project documentation.

Must-Haves:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 2+ years of experience in construction management
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design
• Experience in design criteria development for mechanical systems
• Experience with industrial manufacturing facilities
• Strong organizational, communication, and schedule management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with Bluebeam and AutoCAD software

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $60.00 to $66.67 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
