Job Description


Purpose:

UPMC is hiring an Associate Project Manager, IT to support t he UPMC Bridges Program. The program is one of the largest implementations that UPMC has ever completed. It' s truly a once in a career project that will create the future of care at UPMC.

This position implements the information services project task(s) for specific business sponsors and supports these business units. The Associate Project Manager leads the activities associated with a single project or part of a larger program, with project complexity ranging from simple to moderately complex. The goal is to ensure that the business receives the full benefit of the task(s) and that the task(s) is/are delivered on time and within budget.

Hybrid: Position is primarily remote but may require travel to Quantum or other UPMC sites to support go-live efforts of UPMC Bridges project. Typically, 8:00am-4:30. Core hours are dependent on project needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the project work of the UPMC Bridges project (Epic transformation).
  • A successful candidate will be flexible and open to changing duties as needs of the project evolve.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including summaries, presentations, and executive reports.
  • Client Relationships: Understands project objectives, and business value, from the user's point of view. Is customer focused. Builds trusted relationships with users.
  • Project Planning and Management: Experienced in planning and managing project scope, schedules, resources, budget, issues, and risks. Understands need and value of attention to detail. Proactively identifies and addresses project risks. Utilizes change management to control scope and communicate scope changes. Tracks and reports project progress, and forecast trends.
  • Team Leadership/Development: Ability to organize, manage, and lead the project team to success. Supports project team members and colleagues. Builds strong relationships with colleagues and IT partners. Skillfully handles situations and creates positive outcomes. Demonstrates self-awareness. Provides mentoring and support to others in areas of expertise.
  • Relevant Technical/Business Knowledge: Experience in a similar technical/industry. Demonstrates financial awareness. Working knowledge of analytical and problem-solving techniques and tools.
  • Process Oriented: Utilizes organizational and PMO processes and standards to provide consistent and excellent project management services. Understands the need and value to continually define and/or improve processes.
  • Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
