RES is seeking a Project Manager - Mine Reclamation with 3 + years of experience based out of our Pennsylvania, Ohio or Illinois offices.

The mission: RES currently is expanding our activities in mine reclamation. Reporting to Sr. Project Manager, this position will be working on new, large and complex environmental restoration projects. We are looking for a skilled communicator who knows how to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within RES, including Land, Legal, Regulatory, Design, Sales, Ecology, and Construction. You will also represent RES before the community and have the ability to lead a team and drive a project from conception to successful completion.

RES provides project managers the opportunity to work on all phases of the project lifecycle and collaborate directly with our in-house scientists, engineers, and other ecological restoration professionals, as well as our expert consultants and partners. We have multiple large-scale projects that are exciting to work on and dozens of additional smaller-scale, but equally interesting projects.

A Day in the Life

You will be developing project budgets, outlining a project schedule, and managing fast paced, large, and complex projects. This may include the development of mine reclamation projects. Depending on where the project is located, oversight of the project team may involve in-house staff and/or subcontractors. This role may also involve supporting existing projects in all project phases, including restoration for grassland habitat to stream and wetland restoration.

This role also includes estimating and evaluating bids from subcontractors, managing subcontractors, and providing QA/QC of contracts and technical reports. You will be interacting with our project accounting team, supporting the revenue recognition process and the delivery of the financial reports, so experience with business financials is a plus.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, geology, environmental science or similar field
  • 6-10+ years of progressive experience in an applied earth sciences; 3+ years of Project Management Experience within the 6-10+ years
  • Strong skills in verbal and written communication and an ability to work well with and lead a diverse group of project professionals.

What Will Make You Stand Out?

  • Experience in mine reclamation design, natural resource evaluation and permitting, and reclamation plan development.
  • Experience as team lead in engineering or applied science and a familiarity with the engineering and/or construction components of developing projects.
  • Advanced Degree or additional qualifications such as certifications.
  • Familiarity with stream and wetland restoration, passive water treatment, or endangered species habitat restoration
  • Experience with the ecological skillsets tailored to the mining industry
