The Survivability team in Orlando, FL is seeking a Low Observables Engineer to assist with the development, design, manufacturing and test of Low Observable components and vehicles.

The candidate will work independently and in small teams and participate in Government forums and internal program reviews.

What You Will Be Doing

Analyze, research, design, and develop materials and their related fabrication and application processes for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems, and subsystems;

  • Responsible for performing, analyzing, and communicating vehicle signature predictions using Unix-based codes and tools.
  • Responsible for planning and/or executing laboratory measurements of material coupons to determine physical, electrical, and/or environmental properties.
  • Engagement in the research, design, computational electromagnetic modeling, fabricating, and testing of advanced electromagnetic metamaterials.
  • Responsible for planning, performing, post-processing, and communicating the results of laboratory and vehicle signature measurements.
  • Writing and using scripts to batch analysis and post-processing.
  • Engagement in the algorithm development, test, and maintenance of signature prediction tools using C++, C#, Java, and Fortran, Matlab, Python.
  • CAD software literacy for model cleanup and meshing

The position requires strong verbal and written communication skills for final reports and technical briefings to large groups.

The candidate should or will develop experience in customer/client interaction.

The candidate will be expected to develop and execute R&D plans to meet needs defined by management or by the customer and concisely describe a plan for implementing the technical approach, and provide reasonable cost/schedule estimates for the work required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
  • Ability to obtain a TS Security Clearance , therefore you must be a US Citizen.
  • Previous experience in Low Observables (LO), Survivability, or Susceptibility.
  • Basic knowledge of Radar Cross Section Reduction (RCSR)
  • Familiar with LO modeling and predictions: Computational electromagnetics (CEM), Hybrid Finite Element, Boundary Integral method (FE-BI), Method of Moments (MoM), Xpatch, SENTRi, HFSS, CST Microwave Studio, FDTD
  • Knowledge of RF materials/coatings and RF material measurements

Desired Skills:

Active Top Secret Clearance.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Top Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
