Estimator – Position Overview

As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in our preconstruction efforts, ensuring accurate project cost evaluations and proposal development. This position involves close collaboration with the Estimating Manager, other estimators, project management, and our sales team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze project documents including proposals, blueprints, and specifications.

  • Identify and quantify labor, material, and time requirements.

  • Support bid/no-bid decision-making with the Estimating Manager.

  • Maintain and update internal cost databases.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of departmental standards.

  • Participate in turnover meetings and job cost reviews to refine future estimates.

  • Communicate regularly with project teams regarding resource availability.

  • Support subcontractor and vendor relationships.

  • Attend client meetings and proposal presentations.

  • Coordinate with the sales team on private client proposals.

  • Participate in training and safety seminars.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead hand-off meetings and initiate project setup.

  • Procure materials and subcontracts per project requirements.

  • Manage submittals, transmittals, and approvals.

  • Coordinate deliveries and maintain accurate project records.

  • Prepare and manage change orders and purchase orders.

  • Track and report labor and equipment productivity.

  • Schedule and coordinate with field superintendents.

  • Monitor and enforce site safety compliance.

  • Develop project billing and track cost-to-complete reports.

  • Lead correspondence with engineers, vendors, and clients.

  • Provide feedback to estimating on ongoing and upcoming bids.

  • Manage risks, delays, and unforeseen conditions on-site.
