Electro Mechanical Engineer
Job Description

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, R&D, customer technical support, and production to execute initiatives and drive product development. Lead product design, process optimization, and the development of cost-saving measures and quality control initiatives. Apply machine capabilities, machining principles, material characteristics, and tolerances. Lead the development of technology-based products and support manufacturing lines, including project management, documentation, and test development. Provide technical expertise to engineers, assemblers, and machinists to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction. Conduct research on new technologies and stay current on client applications. Participate in defining solution approaches, engineering problems, and process improvements. Collaborate with management to optimize departmental budgets and maximize ROI.

Responsibilities

  • Apply machining principles and analyze tolerance stack-ups.
  • Support manufacturing lines through project management and test development.
  • Provide technical expertise to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct research on new technologies and maintain current knowledge on client applications.
  • Define solution approaches and identify engineering problems and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with management to optimize departmental budgets and maximize ROI.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and 3D CAD design.
  • Hands-on experience with metalworking and production machines.
  • Understanding of machining principles and tolerances.
  • Proven leadership skills in team management and project execution.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly.
  • Experience with multi-part stack-up, preferably cylindrical.
  • Experience with press-fit applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with lathe machining.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years in technology-based product development.
  • Substantial experience with machinery.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing efficiencies, FMEA, and DFMA.
  • Solid understanding of financials, production costs, and ROI.
  • Skilled in sustaining continuous improvement efforts.
  • Experience in sourcing suppliers for new product lines.
Work Environment

Collaborative work setting involving cross-functional teams, with a focus on innovation, teamwork, and excellence. Small office setting located in Carlsbad, CA. Profit-sharing benefits based on company profits, with average bonuses ranging from $30,000 to $50,000 per year, and occasionally up to $80,000. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
