We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer who will be responsible for design and implementation of new products and product variations, handling component obsolescence, and providing manufacturing support. The Engineer must be technically well rounded and a self-starter.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interprets marketing or customer product requirements into functional specifications and designs and develops products to these specifications.
  • Design of power supplies, active and passive filters, low noise amplifier circuits, EMC protection, micro-controller & peripheral hardware, communication bus hardware (SPI, UART, I2C, CAN), etc.
  • Design of analog control systems for electro-mechanical applications.
  • Development of design models using Python, C/C++, MathCAD, Excel, Spice tools, etc.
  • Designs analog/digital circuitry for high resolution, low noise signal conditioning and control circuits. Responsible for design, simulation, design verification, test/calibration development, prototype evaluation, and product qualification.
  • Responsible for schematic capture, layout, design outputs, DFM analysis, library & license management for electrical department E-CAD tools including the generation of department policies & processes for their use
  • Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis on products, sub-systems and processes.
  • Create and Update manufacturing documentation.
  • Works with manufacturing technicians and personnel to meet project goals and deliverables.
  • Participates in customer contact during either pre-sale or application support.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in engineering, ideally with concentration on electrical engineering with experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of experience in the design and development of mixed analog/digital electronic systems. Experience with inertial sensing devices highly desired.
  • Analog circuit design. Including but not limited to, familiarity with analog active filters, operational amplifiers, power supplies, thermal sensing, current sensing
  • Digital design including but not limited to, 8/16/32 bit microcontrollers, communication channels, EEPROM and Flash memory, and other peripherals
  • Extensive experience with Altium schematic capture, PCB layout, BOM creation, assembly variants, library construction & management
  • Generate FMEA, MBTF and other needed documentation
  • Working knowledge of oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, inertial & environmental measurement, power supplies, data acquisition equipment
  • Working knowledge of computer languages (C, C++, Python, Visual Basic, Java)
