Process Engineer - Chemical Manufacturing
GEE Group is working with a well-established industrial manufacturer seeking a Process Engineer to join their operations team. This is a high-impact role focused on optimizing complex equipment systems and driving production excellence from the ground up.
What You'll Do:
Champion safety and environmental complianceset the tone and lead by example.
Coach, train, and guide team members to build a safety-first, quality-driven culture.
Support the implementation and fine-tuning of new equipment and processes during plant startup.
Provide hands-on technical support to improve equipment reliability, throughput, and efficiency across Melt Shop and Roaster operations.
Lead data-driven continuous improvement initiatives using SPC, DOE, and other methodologies.
Collaborate cross-functionally to reduce costs, increase productivity, and enhance quality.
Analyze risk across systems and equipment, recommending and implementing mitigation strategies.
Act as backup supervisor for operations when needed.
What We're Looking For:
BS in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering required (Extractive Metallurgy preferred), MS or MBA a bonus.
3-5 years of relevant experience, ideally in heavy or industrial manufacturing.
Proven track record of applying Lean principles and driving process improvements.
Proficiency in SPC, DOE, and data analysis tools like Minitab and Thermo-Calc.
Strong project management instincts: prior supervisory experience is a plus.
Technically sharp with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Fluent in Excel and familiar with project tools like MS Project or Primavera.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards is a plus.
