Senior Substation Project Engineer
Job Summary
POWER Engineers is currently seeking a senior level electrical engineer with substation design experience to work as a Substation Project Engineer in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Freeport, Maine or Boston, Massachusetts (located inFoxborough)office. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of the office).
Roles and Responsibilities
+ Grow and manage relationships with local clients.
+ Mentor less experienced staff in substation project execution.
+ Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations including one-line diagrams, three line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA , communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling.
+ Ensure POWER quality procedures are followed and that the team is resourced in an optimal manner.
+ Perform QA/QC for deliverables to clients across multiple offices.
+ Manage all schedule, budget, and quality of assigned projects.
Required Education/Experience
+ Ability to function as a Senior Substation Project Engineer in the Freeport, Maine location of our Substation Business Unit.
+ BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) from an accredited university.
+ Professional Engineering license (PE) or ability to obtain within one year.
+ Experience in 15kV through 345kV physical and electrical substation design, and IEEE / ANSI standards.
+ Experience in managing 5 or more people on a project team.
+ Experience filling the role of project engineer for several projects occurring concurrently.
+ The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.
+ Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
