This role offers 8-hour shifts on day shift.
The Elgin, IL Henkel manufacturing facility is looking for top talent to lead our facility to Best in Class performance levels and culture. We have a clear three-to-five-year journey laid out to build capability and deliver results using the processes of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Lean Six Sigma (LSS). What youll do
Develop project plans, outlining scope, goals, timelines, resources, and deliverables to guide the project from initiation to completion.
Monitor project timelines closely, identifying and addressing potential delays, and implementing adjustments, as needed, to keep the project on schedule.
Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, foster collaboration, and ensure all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
Manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure all efficient resource allocation to meet project goals within financial constraints.
Organize and lead steering committee meetings for any activity projects with budgets of more than one million dollars.
Manage 5-10 capital projects at once, with individual project budgets up to five million dollars.
Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring proactive problem-solving.
Manage all process changes through OSHA PSM requirements such as Management of Change and Detailed Risk Assessment.
Implement quality control measures to ensure that project deliverables meet established standards to fulfill client or organizational needs.
Provide support in executing regional engineering capital projects by providing local site knowledge to external engineers.
Effectively communicate project progress, milestones, and potential issues to stakeholders.
Conduct thorough post-project evaluations to analyze outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and incorporate lessons learned into future projects.
Execute as a key site owner for regional KPIs around sustainability initiatives.
All other duties, as assigned.

Education & Professional Requirements
A bachelor's degree in the engineering field is required.
Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in managing capital projects in chemical manufacturing.
Must have a strong understanding of project management principles, including planning, execution, monitoring, and control.
Must have a comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles, standards, and best practices.
Must have excellent troubleshooting skills.
Must have the ability to manage project budgets and resources effectively.
Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations is required.
Must have proficient-level to advanced-level computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Must have advanced-level math skills.
Proficient-level to advanced-level knowledge of Lean principles such as 5S, TPM, Root-Cause Analysis is highly desired.
Must be meticulous in monitoring processes and maintaining accurate records.
Must have a strong commitment to safety, with demonstrated investment in safety improvement activities.
Must be able to follow all safety rules and PPE guidelines.
Must be able to work with and around hazardous materials, chemicals, and equipment.
Experience with SAP is a plus.
Must have the ability to adapt and pivot quickly in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Must have excellent leadership skills to guide and motivate project teams towards successful project completion.
Must be well organized with a high attention for detail to be able to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and resources efficiently.
Must have good problem-solving and time-management skills, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach to project management.
Must have solid interpersonal skills.
Must be an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to adapt your communication style to different audiences, including active listening, clear presentation skills, and the capacity to provide and receive feedback.
Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand continuously and walk frequently during the shift.
Must be able to frequently climb ladders and stairs.
Must be able to climb on and walk around equipment, which includes bending, stooping, standing, walking, crawling, twisting, kneeling, and reaching.
Must be able to see and hear to visually and audibly troubleshoot equipment, acknowledge alarms, and perform inspections.
Must be able to sustain repetitive movement of the upper and lower extremities.
Must be able to grip, grasp, push, and pull with varying degrees of force.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance, 100 pounds with assistance, and push/pull up to 600 pounds with mechanical assistance.
Must have dexterity in the hands for tool manipulation.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. Corrective lenses are adequate for the job requirements.
Must be able to wear appropriate PPE including hearing protection, ANSI safety shoes, safety glasses, respirators, and all other required PPE.
