Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of the Office Chief, a Supervising Transportation Engineer, the incumbent serves as District Program Advisor for the SHOPP 130/131 Major Damage Restoration, SHOPP 150 Protective Betterments programs. The incumbent provides engineering support to field and office staffs in the areas of project reviews for State and local agency projects for maintenance features, Safety Review Committee for contract acceptance, engineering support for field maintenance, and investigations of complaints and inquiries. Also provided are Director's Orders, Damage Assessment Forms, Service Contracts, Day Labor Requests, and permit applications to regulatory agencies. He/she may be required to support ongoing maintenance activities and operations.

Working Conditions
Position located at 111 Grand Avenue, Oakland, Alameda County.
The work setting is typically an open space in a climate-controlled office and occasionally includes work outdoors within state right of way. Meetings may be held at various sites statewide. Travel may be required.
New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
