Your responsibilities

Serves as R&D Process Engineer representation or team leader for cross-functional teams formed for product qualifications and launches.
Effectively communicates technical topics to key stakeholders, management and team members to influence decisions.
Partner with Product Development scientists in the execution of R&D Innovation/Product maintenance/SMP type activities.
Drives structured problem analysis through the Process Engineers to provide statistically based solutions to product and process issues.
Drives the application of economically viable process scale-up principles to plant scale processes.
Applies understanding of key unit operations in multiple technology platforms towards specifying reliable, cost effective processes to existing products.
Partner with Supply Chain for development of future technologies, process construction and installation (IQ, OQ and PQ).
Applies the understanding of HACCP, GMPs and regulatory requirements to process design and qualifications.
Incorporates understanding of corporate safety and environmental standards into execution of Product/Process trials and development of process sites.

The experience we're looking for

Candidate must have a BS degree (Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Food Technology or any related field) along with 5 years hands-on experience in food processing desired. Or, BA
with minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in food processing engineering in lieu of a B.S. in Engineering.
Experience in Powder processing units, Liquid Milk Processing and Spray Drying knowledge.
Understanding of the Formulation Program (Optiva) for Product Development to help address Minor Product non-conformance issues around nutrients/new raw material qualification and regulatory guideline changes.
Candidate must be familiar with Process Engineering, reaction kinetics and modeling, equipment design, thermodynamics, and process optimization.
Candidate should have experience in technical writing, Process and Quality Control Documentation, and Technical Presentations.
Proficiency in Computer software Autocad, Visio, Minitab, Microsoft Office and other useful work tools in the accomplishment of tasks.
Must be able to work in a dynamic environment where a high degree of teamwork and collaboration are required.
Understanding of regulatory and GMP requirements for manufacturing of infant formulas is essential.
Some travel, including internationally, is required.
