Our Electrical Teamand Projects
Our Electrical Engineering team, composed of a highly skilled group of professionals, plays a key role in the design and optimization of electrical systems for both new construction and building renovations. With a focus on energy efficiency and sustainable building operation, our experienced engineers support project teams throughout the design, construction, and post-occupancy phases. Our work spans a variety of building types, ensuring that each project delivers high-performance electrical solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients.
What will you be doing?
As a SCADA/I&C Engineer, you will play a vital role in delivering reliable, intelligent control systems for essential water and wastewater infrastructure. You will be part of a collaborative, technically focused team that values problem-solving, creativity, and continuous learning.
SCADA and PLC Programming: Develop and implement programmable logic controller (PLC) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) programs for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
System Integration and Startup: Support system integration efforts and facility startups, including hands-on field testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of I&C systems.
Controls Design and Specification: Design and specify instrumentation, control panels, and communication networks. Coordinate with electrical and process engineering teams to ensure system compatibility and integration.
Technical Coordination: Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teamsincluding electrical, process, and mechanical engineersthrough all stages of project development and implementation.
Construction Support: Provide periodic construction observation, ensuring installation of I&C systems aligns with design documents and quality standards. Assist contractors during installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
Client Interaction and Field Support: Serve as a technical point of contact for clients and contractors throughout construction and commissioning. Respond to RFIs and provide recommendations for system adjustments or modifications.
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical reports, system architecture diagrams, equipment specifications, and test documentation. Maintain accurate records of system integration and performance testing.
Industry Standards Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to relevant electrical codes, industry standards, and cybersecurity best practices in automation systems.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related discipline.
Significant experience (ideally 7+ years) in SCADA/PLC programming and I&C system design, preferably in water and wastewater treatment environments.
Hands-on experience with PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Siemens) and SCADA platforms (e.g., Ignition, Wonderware, GE iFIX).
Proficiency in developing and implementing instrumentation control logic, communication protocols, and network topologies.
Familiarity with instrumentation hardware selection (flow, pressure, level sensors, etc.) and control panel layout and wiring.
Strong technical coordination and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate effectively with contractors and clients.
Ability to travel periodically to job sites for system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning support.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain PE licensure.
Experience in designing and commissioning instrumentation and SCADA systems for municipal water and wastewater projects.
Working knowledge of NIST, ISA, or other industry cybersecurity standards applicable to critical infrastructure systems.
Experience preparing panel wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and control schematics.
Familiarity with process instrumentation calibration and field troubleshooting.
SCADA scripting experience (e.g., Python in Ignition or similar platforms).
Experience with electrical and instrumentation specifications and the preparation of bidding documents.
Ability to support the design and implementation of fiber optic and industrial Ethernet communication networks.
