Job Title: Design Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer to support our engineering team in the design and fabrication of immersive and technically complex systems for themed entertainment, museums, and experiential environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine conceptual designs for mechanical and fluid-based systems used in immersive environments.
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Perform design calculations for utility consumption (air, water, power) and ensure systems meet performance and safety standards.
- Apply principles of fluid dynamics and pneumatics to design systems involving flow control, pressure regulation, and mechanical actuation.
- Conduct flow rate and pressure drop calculations to optimize system performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, fabricators, and technicians to ensure design intent is maintained through production.
- Produce clear and concise technical documentation, including specifications, test plans, and operation manuals.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes.

Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in themed entertainment, special effects, or dynamic product environments.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD is required.
- Strong understanding of pneumatic systems, fluid dynamics, and mechanical design principles.
- Experience with utility load calculations and system integration.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with control systems or show action equipment.
- Familiarity with fabrication methods and materials used in themed attractions.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance in mechanical systems.
Work Environment
The position involves desk-based design work from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Flexibility is required to meet deadlines as needed.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $52.00/hr.
