Position: Mechanical Engineer

Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design,sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking aMechanical Engineer to join our High Speed Engineering team. The position willbe located in Nashua, NH.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Mechanical Engineer on the HSIO Products team you will support to thedesign, development and selection of basic hardware components utilizingfundamental mechanical engineering principles, theories and techniques. Assignedduties may include:

Design and development of specific elements of High-Speed IO Interconnectand Cable devices or components to meet specified design requirements. Mayreceive direction from senior engineering staff and may be responsible toprovide direction to drafting.Perform Mechanical Analyses- Obtain working knowledge of company standardanalysis tools. Perform basic static, dynamic and heat transfer analyses ofmechanical structures, when required. Compile data for investigation by seniormechanical engineering personnel. Participate in design reviews.Support Verification/Validation of Design- Support the fabrication andenvironmental testing of High-Speed IO Interconnect devices. Assist in thedesign and fabrication of prototype hardware. Support the environmental testingof hardware including vibration, shock, thermal, fatigue and others as required.Document results for review by senior engineering personnel.Prepare Documentation- Generate and review the technical content ofdrawings, engineering specifications, reports and other documentation associatedwith the mechanical design. Generate and present design review packages forinternal and external audiences.Support Continuous Improvement- Conduct failure analysis of product returnedfrom field and qualification failures. Lead customization efforts on assignedproduct lines when required.Lead sustainment efforts on assigned product lines- Provide MechanicalEngineering support to products in production. Manage material issues, performroot cause assessments of discovered issues. perform analysis as required toverify validity of proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)3-5 years of electromechanical product design/support experienceStrong Mechanical AptitudeFamiliarity with Structural and Thermal FEA software and capability.Grasp of basic electrical theory.Ability to support design and development of hardware to ensure requirementscomplianceAbility to read mechanical drawings and perform tolerance assessments.Experience with ASME Y-14.5 is a definite plus.Ability to perform basic mechanical analysis to ensure good design.Proficiency with Solidworks 2018 or higherAbility to conduct experimentation and basic testing. Familiarity with basicmeasurement tools and multimeters.Good communication skills and organizational skills
