Description

Function/Duties:

Design and maintain electrical systems from 120V - 23kV. Work with vendors to provide very high-quality power to the site.

Responsibilities:

Testing, maintaining and operation of low to medium voltage systems ranging from the following:

480/277V electrical systems

2400V electrical systems

12.47 kV electrical systems

23kV/12.47kV 10MVA transformers

Generating electrical schematics, bills of materials, and cost analysis

Specifying electrical hardware

Creating new design solutions that meet electrical code

Participating in process improvement/cost reduction teams

Working with varied groups in investigation and integration of new technologies to aid with the performance of electrical and control systems

May include supervision of maintenance employees.

Current Skills/Competencies:

Knowledge of electrical systems ranging from 120/208V to 23kV systems

Knowledge of Arc fault system analysis of electrical systems.

Knowledge and experience on the design, programming of VFDs

Familiarity with regulations and electrical codes.

Knowledge of basic control diagrams

Knowledge of control devices and instrumentation:

Sensors

Transducers

Field Wiring

Knowledge and experience on the design, programming of PLCs

Knowledge of Human Machine Interface design Techniques (SCADA Systems)

Inductive Automation Ignition program preferred

Ability to work with others on a team to accomplish goals.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Maintain detailed and accurate records and prepare clear and concise written reports.

Ability to apply engineering principles and techniques to the solution of electrical equipment, buildings and infrastructure.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Skills Background: Bachelor's degree or higher in a related and/or technical field. Experience with MSOffice. Professional registration: EIT and/or PE preferred.
