Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) is one of Lockheed Martins best-in-class Lines of Businesses that prioritizes partnership, integrity and reliability. Controls Engineering is an organization within FBM that facilitates control of the missile through servo actuators, gas hydraulic systems and small rocket motors.

We are a community of engineers looking for a dependable engineer to join our tight-knit group. The Mechanical Controls group is an organization within FBM that is responsible for the design and production support of the systems that control the missile both before and after boost. This position is for an IPT lead for the Post Boost Control System (PBCS) Integrated Valve Assembly (IVA) hardware. In this role, you will have numerous opportunities to represent the IPT with our Navy partner, LM leadership, and suppliers, with many opportunities for career development along the way. The PBCS hardware IPTs are responsible for the development, manufacture, and management of the PBCS hardware which is part of an attitude control and propulsive subsystem controlling the missile in a phase of the flight.

As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to lead our PBCS Integrated Valve Assembly IPT team with a team size of approximately 10-15 people and expected to grow in the next few years. The candidate will identify risks, issues and opportunities, obtain additional funding and implement approved risk handling plans and drive the success of desired reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR etc). The candidate will also support engineering and supply chain integration and program management status.

Experience in gas/fluid dynamics or energetics/propellants
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated leadership and initiative
