Job Title: Project Engineer
Job Description
As a Lead Project Engineer, you will spearhead a team of engineers and technicians, guiding the direction, priorities, and execution tasks of various projects. Your role requires a solid foundation in engineering and experience in related fields such as composite structures and composite overwrapped pressure vessels. You will autonomously execute complex technical tasks and develop solutions to technical challenges. Additionally, you will be accountable for program budgets, schedules, and other project-related aspects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Integrated Product Team (IPT) in executing all tasks efficiently.
- Establish work plans based on technical requirements and anticipated outputs.
- Evaluate and define the technical approach and progress of the project.
- Oversee collaborative relationships outside the organization.
- Work with customer stakeholders to understand their program requirements.
- Communicate with customer representatives to provide project status and obtain feedback necessary to meet project objectives.
- Manage schedules to ensure project tasks are completed on time and within budget.
- Monitor project budgets and make key work plan decisions to align cost projections with funding levels.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, and Project Management departments to schedule and execute the project work plan.
- Create and maintain standard work for project management, including project kickoff efforts, labor requests, project finance reporting, weekly status updates, action item lists, invoicing projections, and program closeout efforts.
- Generate all reports and Supplier Data Requirements List (SDRLs) necessary to complete established or contracted milestones.
- Collaborate with the business development team to identify, pursue, and acquire technology transition opportunities.
Essential Skills
- Experience in composite manufacturing and composite engineering.
- Proficiency in project scheduling and managing project budgets.
- A 4-year degree in mechanical, structures, materials, or an equivalent science/engineering program.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience with composite structures, assemblies, or mechanical engineering.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to interface effectively with customer stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58.00 - $68.00/hr.
