As a R&D Process Development Engineer , you will join our cross-functional research & development team focused on new manufacturing process for IDEXX products across all modalities and delivery platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in engineering or a related physical science. As a critical member of the team, process engineer will be responsible for defining technical solutions of new manufacturing process development. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, motivated, detail oriented, and excel in a highly collaborative and multi-disciplinary environment.

What will you do?
  • Develops new processes and refines existing processes using applied engineering techniques.

  • Design and analyze studies that characterize process development to set meaningful specifications leading to robust process transfer from R&D to operations.

  • Prepare and communicate presentations, results, and conclusions, both verbal and written, to key stakeholders and team members.

  • Work cross-functionally with scientists and engineers to consider full spectrum of manufacturing process development and scale-up and technology transfer to operation.

  • Characterize process systems by breaking them down into their component parts, mapping out how each function will work within the overall system to make sure the manufacturing process will operate as intended.

  • Develops and implements methods of processing materials using knowledge of product design, material properties and fabrication processes.

  • Develop process, equipment, and user requirement specifications and determine test methods for specification compliance.

What do you need to succeed?
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 0-3 years of experience in process development.

  • Strong initiative, flexibility, positive attitude, and the ability to function effectively in a highly collaborative team environment.

  • Excellent verbal, technical writing, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to maintain accurate and clear documentation. Good presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Well-versed in safe laboratory practices.
