What you'll be doing

As a member of CIBCs team, the Senior Project Manager will be a seasoned expert responsible for guiding a group of project managers in the delivery of highly complex projects from end to end including initiation, requirement gathering, design, assessing client needs, design testing, implementation and closure. The role works with minimal direction on complex projects, providing expert level knowledge of project management principles, standards, and business consulting through considerable project delivery experience. The Senior Project Manager uses significant latitude to control projects, conduct status reviews, provide business guidance, identify any deviations to the project plan, and recommend corrective action to mitigate potential issues. The role analyzes situations and data to prepare and deliver executive level presentations to keep management informed of project status, changes, and milestone achievements.

How you'll succeed

  • Relationship Management - Lead in the development of internal relationships with CIBCs lines of business and other infrastructure groups, as necessary, to deliver strategically important projects within the approved budgets and timelines. Actively seek and evaluate opportunities to improve existing processes and facilitate as necessary requirements and process mapping workshops and work collaborate with key stakeholders to implement changes where appropriate.Work with partners within CIBC on a cross functional basis to support the strategic direction and enable the installation of effective Payment & Transformation strategies.

  • Business Analysis & Quality Assurance - You will be responsible for collaborating with the Payments LOB and our technology partners to perform analysis, document current and future state processes and create business requirements documents. You will facilitate requirements working sessions or participate in Agile sprints and as necessary support or represent the business in these sessions. You will also collaborate with all partners to develop test strategy and plans and support the LOBs in test execution and post implementation validation and monitoring

  • Project Delivery - Deliver or support the delivery of priority products, processes, offers, campaigns, etc. that support our strategy. Support the delivery of People Change Management components of the project, utilize Agile concepts and practices where ever applicable. Document and simplify our end-to-end processes (current & future state) including escalation processes. Lead our Lines of Business in developing strategies and plans for end-to-end business process validation testing and post implementation monitoring.

  • Strategic Development & Execution - Support the development, testing and implementation of projects that impact Payment Strategy & Transformation projects. Help improve quality, and support 'best practice' in project delivery areas; Business Analysis, Quality Assurance, People Change Management and utilization of tools and techniques in the project delivery lifecycle (e.g. Process Mapping, Communication Plan, Training Plan, FMEA etc.). Make recommendations throughout the project life cycle related to changes to scope, budget, and schedule.

  • Subject Matter Leadership - Lead and mentor Business Analysts in support of project work packages deliverables. Performs a subject matter leadership role to Payment Strategy & Transformation Project Delivery on project related activities. Contributes to development of the intellectual capital as well as a general base of insight and superior knowledge of the team.
