**Definition:**
An engineering internship position responsible for collecting, recording, summarizing, and interpreting social, economic, geographic, and engineering data related to transportation, land use, subdivision regulations, and floodplain management. This position requires assisting senior professional staff with engineering analyses, report writing, and information management. The intern will gain valuable hands-on experience while contributing to technical planning and regulatory efforts that shape regional development.
**Required Training and Experience:**
The position requires the successful completion of a high school degree with one (1) year of college coursework in engineering, computer science or field related. The position also requires the possession of a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and specialized certifications may also be required of individual positions.
**Required Knowledge and Skills:**
The ability to prepare, organize and present complicated reports (both written and orally). Computer literacy and competence; Microsoft Word, Excel; GIS preferred. The position also requires the ability to work effectively and harmoniously with staff, Commission members and the general public.

**Pay Range:** $20 - $23 Hourly

This paid position is a planned and structured work experience that provides youth various opportunities for career exploration and skill development. Individuals must meet program eligibility requirements for this funded opportunity. Program ages are 18-24 and must be in secondary school the time of application. *Applicants will be screened for program eligibility.*
