We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join our team in Pasadena, California. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with specific expertise in power systems. This role involves overseeing project execution, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion of power system projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage power system projects, ensuring alignment with scope, timelines, and budget.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Field and Shop Technicians, ensuring high standards of safety and performance.
Coordinate between Project Managers, field teams, and other departments to ensure seamless project execution.
Assess the technical performance of Field and Shop Technicians, and perform annual res to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
Develop and implement procedures to improve project and operational efficiency.
Evaluate current test equipment and make recommendations for future purchases.
Ensure field compliance with safety standards such as NFPA 70E, OSHA, and Cal OSHA. Conduct random field audits to assess safety and quality.
Lead investigations into project deficiencies, facilitating corrective actions.
Respond promptly to daily communications from customers and team members, ensuring smooth project coordination.
Track, coordinate, and deliver technical and safety training for field personnel.
Re and approve final project reports, ensuring accuracy and quality.
Requirements
Technical Expertise:
Experience with electrical testing on low and medium voltage equipment, including substations, switchgears, circuit breakers, instrument transformers, protective relays, motor control centers, transformers, and grounding systems.
Solid understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA, IEEE, and NFPA standards.
Familiarity with NETA standards for acceptance, maintenance, and commissioning of electrical systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a related technical field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the power systems industry.
NETA or NICET Certification is a plus.
Strong knowledge of NFPA 70B (Electrical Maintenance) and NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace).
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to work on-site and adapt to project demands.
