Design Engineer Aerospace Structures (Onsite Wichita, KS)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled

Design Engineer

to join our Aerospace Engineering team in Wichita, KS. This role involves the design, validation, manufacturing support, and delivery of aircraft fuselage and propulsion structure components. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in aerospace structural design and a collaborative mindset to deliver high-quality solutions to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and validate primary and secondary structural components for aircraft fuselage and propulsion systems.

Develop payload designs and perform lofting activities as needed.

Ensure design quality with considerations for tolerance stack-up, cost-effectiveness, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance.

Apply expertise in GD&T and functional tolerancing to define precise manufacturing requirements.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to present design solutions at various gate checks and design reviews (Preliminary, Intermediate, and Critical).

Engage directly with customers to present design progress and address technical queries.

Manage part release to meet project schedules and coordinate with customer and supplier teams.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

3 to 18 years of experience as a Design Engineer in the Aerospace Industry.

Hands-on expertise with fuselage, nacelle, and EBU systems.

Proficient in CATIA V5 and Enovia.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Experience in both metallic and composite structure/component design.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Proven ability to succeed in a hybrid virtual/on-site team environment.
