Job Title: Transportation Project Engineer

Job Description

Seeking a Transportation Project Engineer to execute and help lead complex projects, including municipal roadways, roundabouts, trails, heavy highway, safety studies, green and complete street designs, and more for ODOT, LPA, and Non-LPA clients across Ohio. The Project Engineer will act as a liaison between production staff and Project Managers. We are looking for qualified candidates with multiple years of transportation engineering experience who can hit the ground running.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed research, analyze data, and prepare plans to support innovative design solutions.
  • Perform field reviews to identify opportunities and constraints.
  • Collaborate with leadership staff to create CAD-generated designs and compelling visual exhibits.
  • Provide cost estimates, documentation, and quality checks for project accuracy.
  • Contribute to projects that enhance communities while ensuring safety and sustainability.
  • Adhere to all quality and safety standards.
  • Make recommendations and demonstrate analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Build professional connections through client meetings and networking.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of transportation engineering/design experience within roundabouts, roadway, and/or highway projects.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, OpenRoads, and/or Civil 3D.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Roadway design, civil engineering, transportation engineering, highway knowledge.
  • Experience with project management and traffic engineering.
  • Professional Engineer certification is a plus.
  • Consideration given to designer-level candidates who are highly skilled and can work independently.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position with a work schedule of 2-3 days from home. The position can be based near any of the offices in Ohio, including Columbus, Akron, Cleveland, Mason, and Newark. Occasional site visits may be required. Enjoy a growing company with a large backlog of projects.

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
