Job Title: Roadway Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Roadway Engineer to join our Ohio Transportation Business Unit. The Roadway Engineer will collaborate with a team to undertake complex projects for ODOT and LPA clients. Upcoming projects include new roadway design, EER studies, interchanges, roundabouts, and more. The ideal candidate will thrive in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment, leveraging their experience to grow professionally in today's global landscape. Remote and hybrid work options are available for this position.
Responsibilities
- Design complex roadways for ODOT and Local Public Agency (LPA) clients.
- Create and review project design calculations, quantity takeoffs, specifications, plans, and contract documents.
- Collaborate within the Transportation Team, assigning responsibilities.
- Adhere to project schedules and budgets.
- Apply ODOT design manual principles to highway design.
- Utilize OpenRoads and/or Civil 3D in accordance with client standards.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to subordinate groups.
- Occasionally travel to client meetings and site visits, with possible overnight stays up to 10% of the time.
Work Environment
Candidates can work 100% remotely, provided they reside in Ohio, or choose a hybrid option based on experience level. The position offers the chance to join a small Columbus office with a large backlog of transportation projects, providing opportunities for professional growth and development.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience in roadway design and transportation engineering.
- 5-10+ years of roadway/transportation design experience.
- Experience working on ODOT and LPA roadway projects.
- Ability to work independently and hit the ground running.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- EIT or PE license.
- Experience managing projects for ODOT or LPA clients.

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
