The Aeromechanics Engineer will perform aeromechanics analysis, design optimization, test & validation, and support FAA Certification of fan, compressor, and turbine airfoils. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities As the Aeromechanics Engineer, you will: Perform aeromechanical assessments in support of new engine design including modal analyses for frequency placement, forced response analysis and flutter assessments using finite element models (FEM) and/or unsteady computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis. Prepare for rig and engine tests. Define airfoil instrumentation such as strain gages and light probes. Process component test data from ping test, laser vibrometry and bench fatigue. Generate on-test vibration monitoring documentation and prepare test plans. Execute rig and engine tests safely across all test sites globally. Monitor airfoil vibrations real time and modify test plans as needed. Process dynamic strain gage and light probe data using dynamic signal processing methods. Summarize key responses and observations. Document results in certification reports. Support aeromechanical technology development projects including advanced fluid-structure interaction methods and HCF mitigation technologies. Prepare and present technical information to internal and external customers. Ensure proper documentation of aeromechanics design, analysis, and test data. Share engineering information, lessons learned, and promote open dialogue. Prepare invention disclosures for technology that provides a competitive advantage. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline with an emphasis in vibration, aerodynamics, acoustics, or aeromechanics and a minimum of 3 years of relevant technical experience. Desired Characteristics Master's degree or Ph.D.in Engineering from an accredited college or university. Knowledge of mechanical design and finite element analysis software such as ANSYS. Knowledge of aerodynamics design and computational fluid dynamic software such as CFX. Experience in aeroelastic vibration test, instrumentation, and data analysis. Programing skills such as Fortran, MATLAB, or Python. Highly motivated, passionate, and exceptional communication skills. Proven teaming and collaboration skills. This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
