Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a contract opportunity located in Ogden, UT.
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite - No Telework
Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizenship Required
We're looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the U.S. Air Force Sentinel Program, a vital national defense initiative modernizing the ground-based nuclear deterrent system.
Position Overview:
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will design and evaluate electrical systems for Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. Air Force projects. You'll support the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the Sentinel Program, conducting studies, calculations, and system designs. This is a hands-on engineering role involving team collaboration, field investigations, and mentorship of junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed designs and calculations for medium/low voltage electrical systems, grounding, lightning protection, and more.
Perform power system studies using ETAP (Load Flow, Short Circuit, Arc Flash, etc.).
Develop and review electrical specifications, drawings, and procurement documentation.
Conduct equipment sizing and cable de-rating calculations per NFPA 70.
Interface with other disciplines, systems engineering, and client representatives.
Guide and mentor junior engineers; ensure compliance with codes and project standards.
Use AutoCAD, AGI32, SpecsIntact, and related tools.
Required Qualifications:
Level I:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
8-10 years of relevant experience
U.S. Citizenship (required for government contract)
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
Level II:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
10-13 years of relevant experience
Same requirements as Level I
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
Experience with SmartPlant 3D, SpecsIntact, UFC, and Whole Building Design Guide
Experience with government contracts and Department of Defense projects
Active or ability to obtain Secret Clearance
