Join Collins Aerospace as a Hardware Engineer , and work with the Data Links & Tactical Communication Systems team within the Mission Systems C4I&A organization. We are looking for a strong, passionate problem-solver with an action-oriented, collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations.

In this role, you will initially focus on Test Equipment Design and transition to Electrical Design Engineering. You will play a critical role in the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced communication hardware systems.

This position will be at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

This role is categorized as hybrid , with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

What YOU will do:

  • Design, develop, and integrate Collins products within the Test Equipment Environment in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Develop both engineering and production test systems, test interface adapters, cabling, technical drawings, schematics, circuit designs, and analyses.
  • Contribute to the completion of all stages of test product development and assist in managing technical, cost, and schedule aspects of assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to develop proven hardware designs that meet system performance and operational specifications.
  • Perform circuit card design lifecycle activities, including requirements capture, schematic capture, design documentation, circuit design analysis like Performance, Stability, ESD/Lightning, Decoupling and Signal/Power Integrity analysis, creation of board stackup and routing instructions, coordination and review of printed wiring board layout, creation of test plans, root cause analysis, and integration.
  • Design, document, verify, support, test, and troubleshoot digital hardware for communication products using electrical engineering principles and techniques.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years prior relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in designing and developing test equipment for communication systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics, circuit design, and hardware integration.
  • Experience with testing and troubleshooting electronic hardware.
  • Experience with commonly used electrical engineering design and analysis tools, including but not limited to: NX ECAD 2D/2D design, Siemens DX Designer and Expedition formerly know as Mentor Graphics, Creo MBSE Schematic, Altium PCB Layout, Cadence Allegro, Eagle, KiCAD, etc.
  • Experience with commonly used test equipment, including but not limited to: Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Network Analyzers, Power Meters.
  • Experience with signal integrity and timing analyses for creating robust circuit card designs.
  • Hands-on experience testing circuit card assemblies and performing design verification activities.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, including planning, tracking, and managing hardware development tasks in JIRA.
  • PGA design and verification knowledge.
