Join a leading team in the Braking Systems Division as a Senior Mechanical Engineer based in Danville, KY. This is a full-time, first-shift position with flexible hours, primarily Monday through Friday. Occasional early mornings, late evenings, or weekend work may be required based on project needsbut this is expected to be rare.

About the Role
As the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll be the site's lead facility engineer, supporting plant operations, equipment upgrades, and strategic projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teamsincluding hourly and salaried staffon everything from maintenance initiatives to large-scale facility expansions. Your work will primarily support the Danville carbon production site, while also contributing to projects across Akron, OH and Coventry, RI locations.
Key Responsibilities
Site & Facility Development
Lead engineering design efforts for facility expansions, equipment installations, utility systems, HVAC, and process piping while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Project Engineering
Oversee full-cycle project engineering: planning, budgeting, scheduling, cost control, purchasing, and vendor coordination for capital and improvement projects.
Manufacturing Support
Support process improvements, automation implementation, and new equipment integration to enhance production efficiency.
Maintenance Leadership
Collaborate with maintenance teams to improve operational efficiency, develop skill-based training, and implement problem-solving tools.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with leadership, production teams, and outside contractors. Help foster a collaborative, high-performance work environment.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (required)
Experience:
5+ years in mechanical engineering, including project management, facility design, and implementation of industrial systems and equipment.
Technical Skills:
2D and 3D CAD (AutoCAD required; SolidWorks a plus)
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics
Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and facility systems
Familiarity with SAP (preferred; can train)
Experience with DeltaV or similar control systems (preferred)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and interpersonal communication
Self-directed with a hands-on, solutions-oriented mindset
Comfortable working across teams and with all levels of the organization
Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving abilities

Work Environment
