Our client is actively seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager to join their team. This is a direct hire opportunity located in Schaumburg IL. This person will lead high-impact transportation engineering projects and mentor project managers across multiple office locations. Based in Schaumburg, IL, this role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer with extensive experience in IDOT Phase I and II roadway and bridge design.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing client relationships, overseeing departmental backlog and project delivery, identifying business development opportunities, and ensuring technical excellence across a range of municipal, county, and state-funded infrastructure projects.

- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) License in the state of Illinois or ability to obtain
- Education: A Bachelors degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering is preferred)
- Experience: 15+ years of experience working on IDOT roadway and bridge design projects, and managing/mentoring civil engineering staff
- Software skills: Microsoft 365 and Adobe (AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred)
- Adaptability: excel at adapting to changing project requirements.

responsibilities:
- Manage client relationships, cultivating new business connections, and collaborating with the Business Development Team to identify IDOT PTB items to pursue.
- Managing PMs current IDOT Phase I and II engineering projects as well as County and Municipal Transportation projects.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and alignment with business objectives.
- Monitor and manage the transportation department's backlog, ensuring accurate tracking, prioritization, and timely resolution to meet operational goals.
