Job Title: Engineering Project Records Technician
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Duration: 6 months

Position Summary:

This role is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Records Technician to support the compilation, review, and assembly of essential engineering, material, testing, and construction records for natural gas pipeline facilities. This role ensures compliance with the company's internal standards and regulatory requirements established by PHMSA. Records include, but are not limited to, pressure test reports, nondestructive examination (NDE) documentation, material test reports (MTRs), and Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure (MAOP) documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Construction teams, and Document Control personnel.
  • Research and analyze electronic project files to verify record completeness and accuracy.
  • Conduct detailed gap analyses to identify missing or incomplete documentation.
  • Retrieve, validate, and prepare missing records to ensure full regulatory compliance.
  • Compile, assemble, and organize complete project documentation packages in accordance with the company's and PHMSA requirements.
  • Manage tasks independently while maintaining regular communication through email and virtual meeting platforms (Teams).

Required Knowledge and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of pipeline construction processes and associated technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and regulations, including DOT 49 CFR 192, ASME B31.3, and ASME B31.8.
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficient in navigating electronic document management systems and working remotely with digital files.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, particularly in remote work environments.
  • Field experience in Operations or Construction, or relevant exposure to pipeline and facility construction and documentation processes.
  • Associates degree preferred.
  • 57 years of relevant industry experience required .
