Learn about the Trident II D5 Fleet Ballistic Missile
We want you to support the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program by joining the Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) team as a Project Engineer. The SEIT Requirements and Verification team handles all System level requirements for the Trident II ballistic missile (commonly known as the D5LE and D5LE2 missile), oversees interface definitions, plans and executes verification processes, and has fingers in every development project under the FBM Program.
We have a Weapon System level view of the FBM Program with activities related to integrating the FBM Life Extension 2 (LE2) missile into the submarine weapon system, as well as supporting efforts to integrate missile subsystems into the flight vehicle design.
Lead/coordinate Integrated Product Team (IPT) activities at the program level,
Ensure proper coordination/balance of cost, schedule, and technical impacts across PSOC LE2 program activities,
Help develop timely resolution plans of issues and ensure the validity of designs, compliance evidence, and all associated documentation,
General duties will include project management functions such as program planning, contract interpretation, and system integration, as well as cost and risk management,
Staff Planning for LE2 ramp-up.
Although this position does support some teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Denver, Colorado , and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate. To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education,
3+ years of project engineering management experience,
CAM and EVM Experience: Demonstrated ability to work with technical leads to manage cost, schedule, and technical scope,
You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD TOP SECRET clearance , to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
5+ years of professional experience ,
Masters degree,
Staffing Experience,
Familiarity with program / project management activities within aerospace or a related industry,
Familiarity with FBM program,
Experience leading / integrating solutions for geographically disperse teams,
Experience with VEMO,
Familiarity with Navy Strategic System Partners (SSP) Customer,
Experience on a missile program,
DoD TS clearance.
