Ontic's Creedmoor, NC, site is home to several specialist companies within the Ontic Group, including Metro Merlin, Twin Commander, and Firstmark. Our team is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join them. As part of the Type Design/Certification Engineering Team, you will report to the Aircraft Airworthiness Technical Director and will have an onsite work structure in Creedmoor, North Carolina.
To be considered for the Senior Design Engineer opening, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years' aircraft design engineering experience, inclusive of aircraft Structural design and Mechanical systems.
- Experience in creating and interpreting aircraft engineering drawings.
- CAD/CATIA/SolidWorks working knowledge.
- Familiarity with change control boards and configuration management practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Project Management practices.
As a Senior Design Engineer, you will:
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Metro/Merlin or Twin Commander Aircraft Type Certificates.
- Create/modify aircraft engineering drawings as part of Type Design data.
- Support changes for production/fabrication/installation of parts on the Metro/Merlin or Twin Commander aircraft product line.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, supply chain, sales, and pricing teams to support development of modifications/kits.
- Manage the Request for Change (RFC) process, including providing RFC status, for Type Design changes.
- Occasionally Hold/Manage the Change Control Board (CCB) with cross-functional teams, while providing a review of direction/priority of tasks.
- Support the Technical Support Representatives with customer technical research/information requests.
- Investigate and resolve all tooling, quality assurance, manufacturing, or engineering issues.
- Assist manufacturing and production by providing technical solutions to structural problems that may arise during fabrication and assembly operations.
- Provide input and updates to engineering manuals (IPC, MM, SRM), as required.

Salary Range:
- $90,000 - $120,000/year, based on experience
