Engineering Technician 3
Location: Leawood, KS (Hybrid - 3 days onsite, 2 days remote/ week)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician 3 to support engineering and drafting activities. The ideal candidate will have in-depth expertise in AutoCAD Electrical (ACADE) and preferably experience with SDS (Substation Design Suite). This role involves performing technical tasks, maintaining document control standards, and supporting engineering teams in the delivery of high-quality design outputs. The role also includes mentoring others in software use and contributing to process improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
Utilize your expertise in ACADE (AutoCad Electrical) and train others on the software.
Leverage your experience with SDS (Substation Design Suite) if available.
Perform engineering technician tasks requiring basic technical knowledge, using electronic applications, processes, standards, and document control processes/procedures.
Develop familiarity with engineering standards, systems, document control, and our client's policies and procedures.
Ensure deliverables are accurate and compliant by understanding and complying with the Quality Program.
Identify the needs of internal clients and begin to understand external client's main interests and drivers.
Skills Required:
Expertise in ACADE (AutoCad Electrical) and the ability to train others on the software.
Experience with SDS (Substation Design Suite) is a plus.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience, with a focus on using the software on a daily basis.
Ability to learn quickly, problem solve, and manage time effectively.
Drive for results, self-development, and excellent listening and communication skills.
Basic knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, and our client's policies and procedures.
Education:
Diploma or Certificate preferred. Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
Typically a minimum of 2 years related work experience.
