Electrical Engineer Job Description The Engineer II is a mid-level engineering position tasked with supporting the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and components. This role involves executing engineering tasks, conducting analyses, and contributing to project deliverables under the supervision of other engineers, ensuring the successful completion of engineering projects. Responsibilities Lead the design and development of electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, circuitry, and instrumentation, using CAD software and other tools to create schematics, layouts, and technical documentation. Manage projects from concept to completion, including scope definition, resource allocation, scheduling, and budgeting, coordinating with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and contractors. Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and project teams, reviewing designs, calculations, and specifications for compliance with regulatory standards and best practices. Contribute to the development of new products and technologies by designing, prototyping, and testing electrical components and systems. Identify potential risks and technical challenges associated with electrical systems and propose mitigation strategies to ensure safety and reliability. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations governing electrical engineering practices. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems with overall product and customer designs. Identify opportunities for design improvements and innovation in electrical design methodologies, tools, and workflows. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of electrical designs, specifications, test plans, and project milestones, preparing reports, presentations, and technical documentation. Essential Skills Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor) and electrical design tools. Basic knowledge of electrical engineering principles, theories, and practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (EE), mechanical engineering (ME), or a related field. Bi-lingual skills are a plus. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience. Electromechanical experience with familiarity with US electrical codes.
