TITLE: Product Development Engineer
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Develop multi-layer plastic films and silicone coated release liners for the Building and Construction and Tape markets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with a polymer science background or a Master's degree with a polymer science background
A Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience in polymer processing such as blown film extrusion, film coating and converting.
Basic knowledge of Statistics and have good communication skills.
Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary Responsibilities are interfacing with the sales team & customer service to develop new products for the Building & Construction and Tape markets.
Provide technical support for products such as product processing recommendations and troubleshooting product issues at customer locations.
Investigate, analyze and resolve customer complaints when needed.
Perform plant studies/ trials as part of the steps in the development and manufacture of new products.
Specify and test new raw materials for approval.
Interface with raw material suppliers and purchasing on raw material recommendations and/or substitutions.
Analyze data to establish manufacturing and customer specifications.
Specifying raw material selection, and equipment recommendations.
Extruder & Converting equipment optimization.
Capital equipment installation projects anticipated.
