Hardware Design Engineer

Job Description

Join a dynamic R&D environment where you will work with a team of talented engineers on exciting projects in the medical device and various industries. As a Sr. Engineer, you will guide junior engineers and take part in the entire product development lifecycle, from concept generation and prototyping to design manufacturing. Collaborate on multiple projects, providing innovative solutions and fostering a culture of problem-solving and creativity.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, supporting efforts from concept generation to design manufacturing.
  • Engage in hands-on problem-solving and troubleshooting to deliver effective solutions.
  • Meet with customers to gather requirements, present findings, and provide project updates.
  • Manage project budgets and scope work to teammates, ensuring successful project execution.
Essential Skills
  • At least 7 years of experience in firmware design or comparable experience.
  • Proficiency in PCB design, layout, and optimization.
  • Experience with battery optimization and embedded software.
  • Knowledge of microcontrollers and PCB boards.
  • Proficiency in Python and C++ programming.
  • Experience with design tools such as KiCAD or Altium.
  • Strong testing and troubleshooting skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to speak and present findings to customers effectively.
  • Experience managing project budgets and scope.
  • Broad knowledge and versatility in engineering disciplines.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.

Retirement Savings. Eligibility to participate in a pre-tax 401(k) or 401(k) Roth with non-elective
employer contributions of 3% of your salary.
Health insurance. Company pays 75% of your individual policy premium with a choice from 3
plans, including an HSA (Health Savings Account) option. Spouses and immediate family
members may be added at your expense.
Dental insurance. Company pays 100% of your individual policy premium. Spouses and
immediate family members may be added at your expense.
Tuition Reimbursement. Tuition/Development reimbursement up to 1.5% of salary per year
Short-term disability insurance. Company pays 100% of employees individual policy
premium for short-term disability insurance, which provides 60% of salary up to $1300/week for
up to 12 weeks. Applicable for Pregnancy/Maternity Leave, Injury, etc.
Mobile Phone Stipend. Pre-tax mobile phone stipend. (The mobile phone stipend is not to
encourage a 24/7 connection to employees; we use our cell phones as our primary business
phones at the office so the company supports that cost)
Financial Planning Services. Certified Financial Planners administer our Retirement Plan and
are freely available as part of that program. They also provide semi-annual educational meetings
to the staff.
Paid Time Off
Permanent employees are entitled to flexible paid time off which is accrued on a monthly basis at a rate
of 1/12th of the total and subject to accrual and carryover limits. PTO includes vacation time, national
holidays, and sick time. Holidays may be used at the employees discretion, not just on the date of a
holiday.
Flexible paid leave: 15 days vacation, 11 Federal holidays, 5 days sick leave
