Description
Position: Hardware Engineer
A leading technology organization is seeking a skilled Hardware Engineer to support mission-critical programs for customers including the U.S. Department of Defense, major defense prime contractors, and large commercial enterprises. This role is essential to the design, development, and testing of advanced hardware systems and components. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in hardware engineering, a detail-oriented mindset, and a collaborative approach to cross-functional development.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware Design & Development
Design and develop hardware components such as PCBs, circuits, and systems based on project specifications.
Collaborate with software engineers, electrical engineers, and product managers to ensure seamless hardware-software integration.
Prototyping & Testing
Build and test hardware prototypes to validate design concepts.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Documentation
Maintain comprehensive documentation of hardware designs, test procedures, and results.
Partner with documentation teams to produce user manuals and technical documentation.
Coordinate with Configuration Management to ensure proper release of all designs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Engage with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive product development.
Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous product improvement.
Compliance & Standards
Ensure all hardware designs meet industry, military, and safety standards.
Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in hardware engineering.
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of experience in hardware design, development, and testing.
Proficiency in PCB design and simulation tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence, SPICE).
Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design.
Experience with electrical design, signal processing, and tools such as MATLAB and Simulink.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with microprocessors, FPGAs, and embedded systems.
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Masters preferred).

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Must
10+ years experience
Proven experience in hardware design, development, and testing.
PCB Design
Proficient in using design and simulation tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence, SPICE).
Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design.
Eligible to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret level clearance or higher.
Plus
Experience in designing with Microprocessors, FPGAs, and other embedded systems.
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Masters degree is a plus.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $80.00/hr.
