Snow & Ice Equipment Engineer/Transportation Engineer 1 (TE1) or Snow & Ice Equipment Engineer/Transportation Engineer 2 (TE2), Office of Equipment Management, PN 20050712
The selected candidate will be placed in the classification in which they meet minimum qualifications.
What You Will Do:
- You will be involved in the design, manufacturing, testing and implementation of ODOT's snow and ice removal equipment.
- You will create technical specifications and drawings for all components of ODOT's snow plow trucks i.e. chassis, hydraulic systems, plows, bodies.
- You will work with ODOT's counties and districts evaluating and training on load and weight distribution of their equipment.
- You will work alongside of ODOT professional engineers.
- You will receive hands-on transportation training & experience needed to further your career as an engineer with ODOT.

Transportation Engineer 1:
Bachelor's degree in engineering; Accepted for Basic Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (EIT exam) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors.
Transportation Engineer 2:
Valid certificate as Engineer-In-Training issued or accepted as equivalent by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 1, 85641.
- Or Bachelor's degree in engineering; valid certificate as Engineer-In-Training issued or accepted as equivalent by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 2 yrs. engineering related experience.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration.
