The primary role of the Plant Engineering Maintenance Technician is to continuously improve the reliability, efficiency, and utilization of plant equipment and manufacturing processes. This is accomplished by utilizing mechanical and electrical expertise in the precise installation, maintenance, and repair of plant systems and equipment followed by concise and accurate documentation of all activities and observations. The Plant Engineering Maintenance Technician works closely with all plant personnel to support improved equipment and process reliability as well as efficient and cost-effective use of plant resources. This position is a key member of a cross functional team that supports the improvement of asset reliability. Job Duties: 1. Apply industrial maintenance skills and knowledge to install, maintain, and repair plant systems and equipment. 2. Initiate and perform condition monitoring tasks including preventive and predictive maintenance. 3. Troubleshoot equipment failures to ascertain possible failure modes and participate with operations, plant engineering, suppliers, and other associates to improve equipment reliability. 4. Utilize the company's Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) and supports its use as a key management information tool. 5. Recommend, develop, and implement system modifications to improve equipment operations and provide for attainment of plant and department goals. 6. Provide direction and training for less skilled maintenance personnel and machine operators. Qualifications: Successful maintenance applicants will have welding ability, extensive maintenance experience with food processing equipment, working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and the ability to troubleshoot. A solid background in mechanical and electrical systems as well as training in maintenance reliability is crucial to the success of the industrial maintenance technician. This position requires excellent technical writing and verbal communications skills and the ability to read and work from Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technical manuals, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and control schematics. Must have the ability to learn and effectively use various software programs including the company's Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS). A combination of experience and/or training at an accredited technical school will be given consideration. Minimum Requirements: 2 -3 years of Industrial Food manufacturing experience or a combination of experience and accredited technical training certificates or an associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance. Must be willing to work overtime and weekends. Must be willing to work holidays if scheduled. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Must we willing to train new maintenance team members.
