The role of a Transmission Planner is indispensable for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of the electric grid. Colorado Springs Utilities is seeking an Electrical Engineer III - Transmission Planner to support a variety of critical engineering projects related to our transmission systems!

**Key Areas of Focus:**

+ Developing and maintaining long-range transmission plans to ensure system reliability and economic efficiency

+ Performing detailed analyses of the transmission system under various operating conditions to identify limitations

+ Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement effective solutions for transmission system issues

+ Preparing and presenting technical reports on transmission planning studies to management, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders

+ Staying updated with the latest industry standards, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements related to transmission planning

+ Developing and managing project budgets, ensuring all projects are submitted to the design group for timely completion

**Who You Are:**

+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is **required** for this role

+ Relevant and progressively responsible engineering experience is valued, preferably in the bulk electric transmission systems and/or transmission planning

+ Possession of an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is valued

+ Fundamental understanding of electric power systems, preferable PSSe and TARA load flow tools
